1. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. They are used to make the site work, to remember your preferences or to measure how it is used. We use the term to cover equivalent technologies too, such as the browser's local storage (localStorage).
2. Which cookies we use
There are two groups, and the difference matters: some cannot be switched off because the site would not work without them, and the rest are only enabled if you allow it.
Necessary (no consent required)
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| nubico-cookie-consent | Nubico (first-party) | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies, so we do not ask again on every visit. | Persistent, until you clear your browser data |
| nubico-lang-scroll | Nubico (first-party) | Keeps your reading position when switching language. Clears itself once used. | Session |
| sentryReplaySession | Nubico (self-hosted Sentry at sentry.nubico.tech) | Error diagnostics. Only activates when something breaks, so we can reproduce what happened and fix it. Any text you typed is masked. The data never leaves our servers. | Session |
| cf_clearance y similares | Cloudflare | Anti-fraud verification of the contact form (Turnstile) and site protection. Without them the form cannot be submitted. | Session / up to 30 minutes |
These cookies fall under the exemption in article 22.2 of the Spanish LSSI-CE: they are strictly necessary to provide a service you have requested.
Analytics (only if you accept)
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_* | Google (Google Analytics 4) | Measure in aggregate which pages are visited and how people reach them, so we can decide what content to keep or improve. Not used for advertising or profiling. | Up to 2 years |
| _clck | Microsoft (Clarity) | Pseudonymous identifier for your browser within this site, used to recognise repeat visits. | 1 year |
| _clsk | Microsoft (Clarity) | Joins the pages you view in a single visit into one session recording. | 1 day |
They are not loaded until you press “Accept”. If you reject, neither the Google Analytics script nor the Clarity one is ever even downloaded, and the site keeps working exactly the same: you lose no functionality by saying no.
What Microsoft Clarity does, plainly
It is worth separating it from Google Analytics, because they do different things. Analytics counts visits in aggregate. Clarity records your interaction with the page: mouse movement, clicks, scrolling and what changes on screen. From that it builds heatmaps and playbacks of the navigation, which we look at to understand what people cannot find or what confuses them.
Any text you type into a field, along with numbers and email addresses, is masked in your own browser and never reaches Microsoft. No audio, no camera, and nothing you do in other tabs is recorded. Microsoft keeps recordings for 30 days; those marked as favourites and a random sample, for up to 9 months.
When you accept, we tell Clarity that you consent to analytics and that you do
not consent to advertising. Even so, Microsoft may set its own
cookies on its own domains (CLID on clarity.ms and MUID,
ANONCHK, MR and SM on Microsoft and Bing domains),
which we can neither read nor delete. If you withdraw consent, we signal this to Clarity
so that it erases them and stops tracking you.
3. Legal basis
Necessary cookies are set on the basis of legitimate interest in providing the service and are exempt from prior consent. Analytics cookies are set only with your consent (art. 6.1.a GDPR and art. 22.2 LSSI-CE), which is freely given, specific and informed, and which you can withdraw at any time.
4. International transfers
Three of the providers in the tables above are established in the United States: Cloudflare, Inc., which handles the anti-fraud verification of the forms, and Google LLC and Microsoft Corporation, only if you accept analytics cookies. All three are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognised as providing an adequate level of protection in its Decision of 10 July 2023. If you reject analytics, no transfer to Google or Microsoft takes place.
5. What we do not load
The site's typefaces are served from our own domain rather than from an external provider, so browsing nubico.tech does not disclose your IP address to any third party on that account. We do not embed videos, maps, social media buttons or any other third-party resource that could track you.
6. Changing your mind
You can review your choice at any time from the Cookie settings link in the footer. You can also delete or block cookies from your browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge all allow it under privacy); note that blocking the necessary ones may stop the contact form from working.
7. Changes to this policy
If we add new cookies, we will update this page and ask for your consent again before setting them. The date above shows the last revision.
